ABOUT JAMEY

Jamey Temple is a writer, artist, and mentor based in Eastern Kentucky. She teaches English at University of the Cumberlands, where she works with students across multiple levels of writing and creative practice. She is the author of the chapbook The Core Spins Faster Than the Surface (Bottlecap Press), and her poetry and prose have appeared in publications such as Fourth Genre, River TeethRattleAppalachian ReviewLiterary Mama, and Bending Genres. Her work has been named finalist for Newfound Journal’s Prose Prize, Fourth Genre's Multimedia Essay Prize, and Wavelength's Chapbook Contest. In addition, she has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of Microfiction. She is the recipient of an Artist Enrichment grant from Kentucky Foundation for Women and the Excellence in Teaching award from University of the Cumberlands. She is also an active participant in regional community arts programming, working across writing and visual media.
